Esmail (known as “Ish” to some, “Nana” to his grandchildren) died peacefully on December 18 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He lived a long, full life with strong values of courage, discipline, integrity, humility, curiosity, and altruism. He believed both in science and spirituality, but open-mindedness above all. He continued to evolve throughout his entire life, despite saying, “I’m too old to change.” As a lover of nature and humanity, he planted thousands of seeds both in the ground, as well as in the hearts and minds of family, friends and strangers.

His legacy lives on.
